Inventory Manager and Buyer - Now Hiring

Simply Pure Trenton, a leading name in the cannabis industry, is opening its doors soon and expanding its team.
The Inventory Specialist and Buyer role is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting quality control checks, and ensuring the overall growth, selection, and integrity of the inventory management product system.
Responsibilities Include:
1.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records by performing regular cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and investigating any inventory discrepancies or variances.
- Coordinate and oversee the receiving, storage, and distribution of inventory, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels, initiate replenishment orders, and assist in inventory forecasting to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.

Product Selection and Curation:
- Conduct thorough market research to identify new and trending cannabis products.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source high-quality and diverse inventory.
- Curate a well-balanced product selection that meets the needs and preferences of our diverse customer base.
3.
Vendor Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with cannabis product vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiate favorable terms, including pricing, discounts, and payment terms.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging products to make informed purchasing decisions.

Compliance and Regulation:
- Stay up-to-date on local and state regulations related to cannabis product procurement.
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with the compliance team to address any regulatory concerns related to inventory.

Quality Control:
- Conduct quality inspections of incoming inventory, including visual checks, measurements, and functional tests to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures and specifications, collaborating with vendors and internal teams to address quality issues promptly.
- Investigate and resolve product quality concerns, coordinating with suppliers and cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory-related documentation, including item descriptions, product codes, shelf locations, and transaction records.
- Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, accuracy, and quality metrics, providing insights and recommendations for process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to inventory management and quality control.

Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within inventory management and quality control processes, recommending and implementing efficiency-enhancing measures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as purchasing, logistics, and production, to streamline inventory workflows and optimize inventory accuracy.

Training and Team Support:
- Provide training and guidance to team members involved in inventory-related activities, ensuring understanding and adherence to inventory management and quality control processes.
- Act as a resource for inventory-related inquiries, resolving issues and providing support to team members when needed.
Salary$70000 - $90000 USD per yearRequired Skills Previous experience in inventory management, quality control, or a related field.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in inventory records and quality inspections.
Knowledge of inventory management systems and proficiency in using inventory software or related tools.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds (200 pounds with assistance).
Desired Skills Proven experience as a Buyer, preferably in the cannabis industry.
Familiarity with quality control methodologies and processes.
Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to inventory management and quality control.
